The EQ section features three filter types: a high/low-pass filter, a peak/notch filter, and a classic comb filter. Each of these can be patched into either the feedback loop (Dub Mode), the delay output, or the entire signal path, including the dry signal. The delay section offers up to two seconds of delay with a tap delay facility that also applies grid snapping, allowing your delay settings to be constantly locked to your beat or to a clock signal. Reverb duties are taken care of by our lush 24-bit stereo reverb, as featured on our other cinematic modules.

Bruxa is a collaboration between Make Noise and Alessandro Cortini. Inspired by Cortini’s music and sonic experimentations, Bruxa embodies the seen and unseen, the sign and magic, the alchemy of sound. It is a new evolution of Tony and Alessandro’s original prototype circuits which eventually became the Strega’s Time/Filter Experiment. It is a multi-tap delay line with over a dozen unique feedback paths and multiple filters within those feedback paths aligned to allow for accumulation of noise, saturation and signal degradation.

While Strega is a complete synthesizer in a tabletop form factor, Bruxa is a Eurorack module designed to be used as one part of a Eurorack modular synthesizer. You will discover a number of differences in layout, signals, and sound. Living inside the Eurorack modular system, Bruxa encourages you to patch your own sound and modulation sources, yielding results surprisingly distinct from Strega.

By default it runs on 32.77 kHz and, if sample rate reduction assign is used, this sample rate can be decreased down to 2000 Hz or brought up to 48 kHz.

Clive has 3 modes:

• Cloud (reverb)
• Echo (delay)
• Grains (granular delay)

Clive can do a tremendous job of adding atmosphere and ambience to whatever you feed him but he’s at his most interesting when you start bringing in the onboard modulation. Clive’s modulation acts on the delay or reverb time. It’s a random stepped wave so he jumps from one setting to the next. This can be a bit of fidgeting about or more dramatic jumps – M-Depth controls how much modulation you get and M-Speed how fast.

There’s also an onboard noise generator which can add texture/chaos/aggression depending on your approach.

Clive wants your modulation signals too, in fact that’s where he tends to get really interesting. He’s happy to accomodate -5v to +5v CV to interfere with his Time, Modulation Level, Noise Level and Mix controls.
